This article caught my eye today.
There is almost 1,000 news drugs in the pipeline aimed at women for diseases such as breast and ovarian cancer, depression and anxiety, arthritis, autoimmune diseases, heart diseases and more. So do women need more drugs than men? What’s the deal?
It seems that American women take 65% more prescription drugs than men and this, the pharmaceutical companies think, is where the money is.
Dr. Mercola’s view is that one does not need so many drugs. If you are an average American between the age of 19 -64, you will be taking eleven different types of prescription drugs. And that can be super dangerous.
Some drugs will not complement another, or trigger side effects that requires more drugs to take care of it. Not to mention the effect it may have on the patient. So why so prescription happy? And do women (or men for that matter) really need more drugs? And will more drugs mean better anti aging health?
